So You Want to Be a DJ?
So I have always enjoyed listening to music, every since I can remember. Now I am a 80's baby, and the 80's music in my mind was the best decade of music. I mean you had the Pop stuff of Madonna, Michael and Prince. You had the Euro Stuff with Duran-Duran, Tears for Fears, and A-Ha. Then you toss on top the new sound of Hip-Hop with groups like De La Soul, L.L.Cool J, and Run DMC. And not to forget this was a time when MTV actually played music videos.
So anyway, I hang out with a lot of DJ's and I have always wanted to rock a crowd at a club or party. Luckily, there is this great new software for Mac computers only which allows even the most novice DJ to get on the 1's and 2's. the software is DJay. This software intergrates your itunes music and transforms your Mac into a full blown DJ system. Check out the website for more info...I will be posting some hot mixes that I have made using this so stay tuned!...

HAUTE COUTURE( 1ST INSTALLMENT)
So I was at the Nike Store today, and was checking out some fly kicks. Now, if you know " The Kid" you know me likes my kicks... So I figured I should school some of you fashion illiterate folks on what's hot and what's not in today's ever change fashion scene. Now, I am no Prada or Gucci , but I have some background in urban fashion trends. but please note, you won't catch me in skinny pants!
So I wanted to put ya'll up on the new Jordan 6 Rings which just released on March 5th. These joints take parts from 6 classic Air Jordan's and mold them into one shoe. The shoe is inspired by specific numbered Air

- Air Jordan 6 (VI) – Lacelock on laces, heel loop
- Air Jordan 7 (VII) – Huarache style inner sock
- Air Jordan 8 (VIII) – Fuzzy tongue logo, Velcro strap
- Air Jordan 11 (XI) – Silhouette of upper
- Air Jordan 12 (XII) – T W O 3 on tongue, metal lace loops at top
- Air Jordan 13 (XIII) – Outsole

Movie Watch
Okay, so I figured it's time to start a monthly installment of up-coming movies to watch. Better yer, just movies you must see. I not a movie critic or anything, but I do likes my movies, so I figured I can offer some words of advance when it comes to this subject.
So our first movie doesn't come out until March 26th, 2010. Clash of Titans 2010.
In Clash of the Titans, the ultimate struggle for power pits men against kings and kings against gods. But the war between the gods themselves could destroy the world. Born of a god but raised as a man, Perseus (Sam Worthington) is helpless to save his family from Hades (Ralph Fiennes), vengeful god of the underworld. With nothing left to lose, Perseus volunteers to lead a dangerous mission to defeat Hades before he can seize power from Zeus (Liam Neeson) and unleash hell on Earth. Leading a daring band of warriors, Perseus sets off on a perilous journey deep into forbidden worlds. Battling unholy demons and fearsome beasts, he will only survive if he can accept his power as a god, defy his fate and create his own destiny

RED BULL THREE STYLE
Nashville’s Cannery Ballroom to Play Host as Eight Local DJs Fight for a Chance at Miami’s Winter Music Conference
WHAT: Red Bull Thre3Style isn’t your typical DJ battle. Eight of Nashville’s best and most requested DJs will have to prove they have the spinning skills and musical knowledge to be crowned the city’s best. Each hand selected contestant will have 15 minutes to mix three different genres of music and win over the judges and the crowd. Judged on song selections, creativity, skill, swagger, and audience reaction, each DJ will have to give their all to win this competition.
WHO: Headliner DJ, Rob Swift, is always challenging the idea of what Hip Hop is and testing that notion any chance he can get. Having got his start at age 12 from watching his father DJ meringue parties and older brother showing him the ropes, Rob pursued his love for music and joined the groundbreaking turntablist crew the X-ecutioners in 1991. On his new album The Architect, Rob takes Hip Hop and effortlessly blends it with the genre of Classical music.
Rob Swift will give a live DJ performance as well as join a panel of four other local judges who will score the contestants and ultimately choose who’s best. The winner of the Red Bull Thre3Style Nashville qualifier will advance to the regional finals to be held in Miami during Winter Music Conference. The winner of that final will advance to the U.S. finals in Denver later this year and the U.S. finals winner will earn the chance to compete in the International finals to be held in Paris, France.
The eight DJ’s are: Dorian, Wick-It, Mike Allison, Coach, DJ Crumbz, Cliffy D, ROBOT EARS, and Fan Fiction
